ITV favourite Alan Titchmarsh made an announcement just minutes into the latest episode of Love Your Weekend.

The popular ITV programme returned to screens on Sunday (June 7), with the much-loved gardener celebrating everything that makes the British countryside special, from arts and crafts to manufacturing and local produce.

In the latest episode, Alan was joined by Judy Parfitt, Brian Conley, Freddie Fox, Julian Ovenden and Honeysuckle Weeks.

Horticulturalist Ashley Edwards appeared with drought-resistant plants, while food and drink specialist Andy Clarke showcased the finest festival fare. There was also a performance from the cast of High Society ahead of their forthcoming West End debut.

At the start of the programme, Alan revealed it would be the final episode of the series. Arriving at Manor Farm alongside Judy Parfitt, Alan remarked: “The gleaming bonnet, the purr of the engine driving through the English countryside on a crisp morning, the sun glinting through the trees,” reports the Express.

Addressing the camera directly, the presenter continued: “It’s the last show of the series today and we’re going out with a bang. Judy, are you ready?”

Judy responded: “I’m ready for anything,” to which Alan replied: “Driving Miss Judy. Let’s get this show on the road. Time for Love Your Weekend!”

Previewing today’s programme, Alan said: “Welcome to Love Your Weekend, where summer’s advance continues apace. In a fortnight, we’ll mark Midsummer’s Day, enjoying the longest hours of sunlight, and all around us, nature thrives on its warmth.

“The rainfall of spring means rivers flow full and vivid greens paint the landscape from trees and fields, to lawns and verdures. It really is looking to be a beautiful few months.”

The presenter continued: “Coming up, a line-up of fun fabulousness and some familiar faces. Our VIP guests Brian Conley, Honeysuckle Weeks, and Judy Parfitt [are] bringing the cheer and the chat as they settle into Manor Farm life.

“Straight from the Royal Windsor Horse Show, we meet the ponies and riders gearing up for Manor Farm’s inaugural mounted games. Horticulturist Ashley Edwards is here with the very best in drought-resistant plants, including a verbena, an achillea, and a hardy geranium. Try saying that after a few!”

Additionally, Alan revealed: “Julian Ovenden and Freddie Fox invite us to the swellest party in town, as they serenade us into summer with a high society classic. And to a man who makes a song and dance about food and drink, Andy Clarke has been having a field day with summer, sharing his gastronomic adventures from some of the biggest food festivals.”

The “last show” announcement comes after Alan’s recent confirmation to The Telegraph that Love Your Weekend had secured recommissioning through to the end of 2027.
