Isack Hadjar is under investigation by the stewards at the Monaco Grand Prix for a potential red flag infringement.
The Red Bull driver finished fourth on the road in the Principality, but was elevated to third at the chequered flag due to Pierre Gasly’s 10-seconds worth of time penalties for speeding in the pit lane.
The Alpine driver slumped to seventh, but Hadjar now has an agonising wait to find out if he will keep his second F1 career podium, and his first for the Milton Keynes-based team.
According to the FIA F1 technical delegate: “During the suspension of the Race, mechanics of the Red Bull Racing Team were working on car number 6, performing operations not permitted by Article B5.14.4.a. at 16:55.
“When queried about their works, they stopped working and reverted the car to its previous state without replacing any part.”
It is not immediately clear what the penalty is for an indiscretion of this nature, but it may come with a considerable sanction.
Hadjar has been called to the stewards at 18:30 local time, and if the Frenchman is punished, Oscar Piastri will inherit the final spot on the rostrum in Monte Carlo.
