The ITV soap is exploring an emotional new storyline, as Charity was sexually assaulted by Dr Todd in shocking scenes on Sunday night (7 June).
When Charity heads to the police station to report the attack, she’s invited into an interview room and talks things through with DS Reid, who sensitively asks questions and discusses next steps.
Angela is best known to soap fans for playing Curly Watts’s wife Emma Taylor on Coronation Street between 2000 and 2003.
Since then, she has also had roles in Holby City, Doctors, Wolfblood, Our Girl and The Syndicate.
Most recently, we saw Angela appear in Hollyoaks in 2022 for six episodes as Gill, the mother of villainous student Joseph Holmes.

It seems that she’s had her eye on Emmerdale for a while, as she discussed the possibility of filming for the soap in an interview at the time.
“I’ve been on so many [soaps] now! I was in Corrie for years, then Doctors, and I did Holby City. I think I’m used to that way of working,” Angela told Inside Soap.
“Often in soap you do one take and move on, I like working like that. I think once you act in a soap, you can do anything.”
On Emmerdale specifically, she added: “I wouldn’t say no! I’ve been up there a few times and been close to getting a few parts – I wouldn’t be opposed to joining another soap.
“It’s nice to be part of a family, that’s what I love about it.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
