Cops Wrap Up Investigation of Hulk Hogan’s Death

The Hulkster died from natural causes, police in Florida have confirmed. A Clearwater Police Department report released Friday says wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, died solely from “compelling natural disease,” closing out a nearly yearlong probe into his July 24, 2025 death, reports NBC News. Officers were called to his Florida home for a reported cardiac arrest; Hogan was pronounced dead at a hospital about 90 minutes later.

  • “There has been no evidence to indicate the death of Terry Bollea was anything other than natural,” the report said. “Through the course of the investigation, there has been no evidence to indicate any criminal wrongdoing related to his death. This case will be closed, and will be considered solved, non-criminal.”

Investigators interviewed witnesses and reviewed recordings for the 72-page report, which includes details from the 911 call made by his wife, Sky Daily Hogan, who told dispatchers he didn’t seem to be breathing. According to the report, a home health aide, Hogan’s wife, and an occupational therapist tried CPR before firefighters took over. The therapist told police Hogan’s health had been “very poor” since recent spinal fusion surgery on his neck. He said Hogan “had approximately 20-30 various knee, hip, and back surgeries over the years,” the report states. The therapist later said he was rattled from performing CPR and had not meant to imply that the recent surgery caused Hogan’s death, the AP reports.

Hogan had also recently undergone a heart procedure and treatment for chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Relatives said his other health problems in the weeks before his death included pneumonia and kidney failure. Clearwater police thanked the family for sharing personal medical information “at a time when they were grieving and struggling.” Hogan, whose “Hulkamania” persona helped propel pro wrestling into the mainstream, was 71.
