Colts LB Zaire Franklin Week 5 injury update

Back on the practice field on Thursday for the Colts was LB Zaire Franklin ahead of the team’s Week 5 matchup.
There was some good news for the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday–linebacker Zaire Franklin was back on the practice field.
Franklin was on the Wednesday injury report with an ankle injury and did not practice.
When the official Thursday injury report comes out in the afternoon, we will know what Franklin’s exact practice status was. But Franklin being back on the field is certainly a good sign.
This season, Franklin has logged four quarterback pressures, made 28 tackles, and has two pass breakups in coverage, according to PFF.
As he does, while Franklin has provided stability at the linebacker position for the Colts, the starting spot next to him has been a revolving door.
On paper, Joe Bachie is the starter at the Will position, but he’s been sharing snaps with Austin Ajiake and Chad Muma as the Colts search for consistency.
“I think in a perfect world,” Anarumo said of the linebacker position, “you’d have one guy out there that does it, but we’re falling into a little bit of a flow now and I like the guys that are rolling through there and we’ll see how it goes. But if we have a couple guys man one spot, there’s nothing wrong with that.
“The more guys that can have roles on the defense, the more it will help because those guys are also involved in special teams and if the rep count gets high for one reason or the other, and then they can do different jobs, whether whatever package it may be. So far so good and it doesn’t bother me doing it that way.”
Also back on the practice field for a second consecutive day were wide receiver Alec Pierce and right guard Matt Goncalves.
Awaiting the Colts in Week 5 is a home matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.
