Charges laid after robbery at Bay Street business

Sault Ste. Marie Police say a business in the 400 block of Bay Street was robbed late Saturday morning

Sault Ste. Marie Police have charged one person after a robbery at a business last weekend.

A 911 call came in at 11:50 a.m. Saturday from the 400 block of Bay Street.

“An investigation revealed the accused stole items from the business and, when confronted by an employee, punched them and left,” police alleged in a news release. “The accused then returned to the business and damaged property before leaving again.”

No physical injuries were reported.

Officers arrested a suspect nearby and they say a search located approximately one gram of suspected fentanyl.

Corey McIntyre, 33, has been charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Mischief – Under $5,000
  • Possession of Schedule I substance (Fentanyl)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5,000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent until found guilty.
