Full cast set for ‘The Whoopi Monologues’ starring Kerry Washington, Kara Young

Lincoln Center Theater presents the reimagining of Whoopi Goldberg’s trailblazing 1984 solo show off Broadway this summer at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater.

Lincoln Center Theater has named the complete cast for The Whoopi Monologues off Broadway, running at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater starting July 7 ahead of a July 13 opening.

Joining the previously announced Emmy Award winner Kerry Washington (Scandal) and two-time Tony winner Kara Young (Purlie Victorious, Purpose) are Emmy Award Nominee Dominique Fishback (Swarm, The Deuce), Tony winner Kecia Lewis (Hell’s Kitchen), and NAACP Image Award Winner Danielle Pinnock (Ghosts). Kai Heath, Denise Manning, and Pavar Snipe are understudies.

The Whoopi Monologues is a reimagining of EGOT winner Whoopi Goldberg’ groundbreaking, Grammy-winning self-titled solo show, performed in 1984 at the start of her career. Now, five women reimagine Goldberg’s characters in a new light.

Two-time Tony nominee Whitney white directs The Whoopi Monologues, which also features set design by Studio Bent: Adam Rigg and Anton Volovsek, costume design by Qween Jean, lighting design by Cha See, sound design by Fan Zhang, video design by Hana S. Kim, and hair and wig design by Nikiya Mathis.
