| Special to The Daily Times
The shoulder season at area beaches is continuing unabated, with lots of music-oriented events at bars, restaurants and concert venues. But for the second week in a row, the Ocean City Inlet will see tens of thousands of people gathering outside in one spot for a mega-festival starring many famous names.
Country Calling has Ocean City doubling up on music festivals
Last week’s third annual Oceans Calling fest drew an estimated 55,000 music fans per day to watch famous rock, pop and R&B acts. Its massive stage and lighting rigs remained up and ready to host its sister event, Country Calling, which takes place Friday through Sunday, Oct. 3-5.
This is the second year for Country Calling, which will feature more than three dozen performers. (A smattering of tickets are still available with varying price ranges and packages.) The Friday kickoff will be co-headlined by Carrie Underwood and Brooks & Dunn, with earlier performances by Leann Rimes, Tyler Hubbard and more.
Saturday will find Luke Bryan headlining a bill that also includes Wynonna Judd, Gretchen Wilson and Delmarva’s own Jimmy Charles. Sunday’s finale will see Luke Combs finishing things out after sets by folks such as Margo Price and Ryan Bingham & the Texas Gentlemen.
