In a video shared on Food Network’s Instagram account on Tuesday, July 14, the celebrity chef, 57, replies to the question “How bad does food have to be before you send it back?”
“I am a Chopped judge of 16 years,” responded Guarnaschelli, who currently serves as a judge on 100 Cooks. “I would never send food back, no matter what. Zero chance. There’s no chance. None, zero, absolutely nothing.”
“It would have to — I don’t know. I don’t know. There’s nothing. I’d just stand there and smile,” she added.
The post’s caption asked viewers to weigh in on the topic with their own thoughts on the matter.
Some commenters said they would speak up if a dish appeared undercooked.
“The only dish I sent back was scallops not cooked enough,” one said. “If the meal is raw and inedible then it needs to go back.”

“The only time I have ever sent something back was after I have let everybody know I’m allergic to dairy and there’s cheese on it or butter in it,” one commented.

“I usually never do… but the other day I went out for brunch and it was awful and I didn’t eat it.. so they asked me if I liked it and I was honest…now I insisted on paying and they wouldn’t let me,” they wrote. ” It actually helped them fix the problem. They were really nice and I of course will return there.”

But people who know the industry and end up valued customers the team welcomes NEVER send anything back unless something truly frightening was placed in front of you,” it added.
In another social media post this week, Guarnaschelli celebrated her daughter with a heartfelt birthday tribute.
On Sunday, July 12, the proud mom shared an Instagram post with a sweet image of her with Ava, who was born in 2007.
“Best day of my life,” she wrote in the caption. “The day Ava was born. Today she is 19. No words. Ava: you have made me want to be a better person and a better cook too.”
“I love you the most in the world, kid,” she added. “Happy birthday.”
