Flames place Huberdeau, Pospisil on injured reserve

The team has decided to put together a group which includes 15 forwards, eight defencemen, two goalies.
Among the players that will break camp with the team include forward Matvei Gridin and and defenceman Zayne Parekh.
Parekh, 19, has been pushing to make the roster out of camp but knowing there is still work to do to be a consistent presence in the lineup. He was skating as an extra defenceman in practice on Monday
Gridin, 19, is expected to take Huberdeau’s spot alongside centre Morgan Frost and right-winger Matt Coronato
The team will also have a couple of players who won’t be available to start the season.
Huberdeau was hurt after colliding with goaltender Kevin Lankinen in a pre-season game against the Vancouver Canucks. The 32-year-old Huberdeau is coming off his best season in Calgary, scoring 28 goals and 62 points in 81 games in 2024-25.
Pospisil missed the final pre-season game with an undisclosed injury. Pospisil had a career-best 25 points — four goals and 21 assists — and 84 penalty minutes in 81 games last season for Calgary, which earned him a three-year contract extension.
Sam Honzek was also recalled from the AHL Calgary Wranglers.
