Abbey Clancy claims husband Peter Crouch has “got cheek” as she criticised his spending behaviour. The model and former Premier League star have been wed for more than 14 years now.

They frequently discuss the ups and downs of married life on their podcast, The Therapy Crouch. In the latest episode, Abbey expressed concerns she might be experiencing Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

This led husband Peter to propose that the 39-year-old mother-of-four should “save up and go on a nice holiday”, reports Wales Online.

He remarked: “I don’t want to spend money on anything, but holidays I do.”

Peter continued to claim there is “nothing he really likes to spend money on”. Only for the couple’s podcast producer Ross to quip back that he spends money on Abbey.

This prompted Abbey to fire back a jibe at Peter’s clothing collection. She revealed: “Did I tell you he’s got like 50 polo necks from Tom Sweeney, and that’s just on one rail. When I was cleaning out his wardrobe and they’ve all got the tags on.

“He’s got five of the same jumper in the same colour and he’s got the cheek to say, ‘I don’t spend anything’. I reckon there’s about £10 million of clothes in that wardrobe.”

Peter, who maintained the collection has accumulated over the years, replied: “I didn’t know I had them.”

Abbey quipped the polo shirt salesman must “see him coming”.

Abbey and Peter have been together for nearly two decades, first meeting in a bar back in 2006. Their romance had a rocky start when Peter managed to annoy Abbey within moments of their first meeting.

Looking back on their initial encounter during a Good Morning Britain interview, Abbey disclosed: “When we first met, he begged me for my number and then I went to the loo or the bar, and when I came back, he was talking to another girl. I was like, ‘How dare you?'”.

Peter later clarified he was “just talking” to the other woman, although Abbey insisted on having her contact details returned.

He added: “I said, ‘You can’t give someone your number and then take it back’.”

Despite this rocky beginning, the couple’s relationship blossomed and they tied the knot in 2011.

According to OK!, the family live in a “magical” Surrey estate complete with its own cinema room and sprawling grounds. The enormous property regularly features on Abbey’s social media accounts.

Fans have spotted glimpses of Peter working at his large wooden desk, decorated with football memorabilia, as well as images of the family using the estate’s outdoor swimming pool and wooden play area. Reports indicate they moved to the stunning home in 2016.
