Stanford football Ben Gulbranson injury update, starting QB helped off field

FSU football’s 3 keys to victory to ending losing skid vs. Stanford

Tallahassee Democrat reporter Peter Holland Jr gives his 3 keys to victory in FSU football’s ACC matchup against Stanford.

Florida State football’s (4-3, 0-3 ACC) defense might have caught a break, but at the expense of Stanford’s injured quarterback Ben Gulbranson.

Gulbranson took a vicious sack by FSU’s K.J. Kirkland on a safety blitz and was down for a few minutes. As he got back up, the senior quarterback had to be helped off the field as he suffered a lower-body injury. It is uncertain whether or not he will return for the second half of the game.

Elijah Brown stepped in as the Cardinal’s backup QB. Prior to the injury, Gulbranson threw a touchdown pass to receiver CJ Williams to give the Cardinal a 10-3 lead nine minutes into the second quarter. He has completed 6 of his 13 passes for 90 yards, a TD, and an interception.

Stanford leads 13-10 at the half. FSU’s QB Tommy Castellanos scored a rushing TD to make a three-point game. FSU is looking to break its three-game losing streak and earn its first ACC road victory of the season.
