The N.C. State Wolfpack men’s basketball team tips off its 2025-26 schedule against the South Carolina Gamecocks in a preseason exhibition game on Sunday, Oct. 26 (4:30 p.m. ET), at First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro.
It’ll be the Wolfpack’s unofficial debut with first-year coach Will Wade, who brought in 13 newcomers to join sophomore returner Paul McNeil Jr. and walk-on Jordan Snell. This is the lone preseason game for N.C. State, which tips off the regular season on Nov. 3 against N.C. Central at Lenovo Center in Raleigh.
Texas Tech transfer Darrion Williams, the preseason ACC Player of the Year, is among N.C. State’s top players. Michigan State transfer Tre Holloman, Houston transfer Terrance Arceneaux, UNC transfer Ven-Allen Lubin and McNeese transfer Quadir Copeland also joined the Pack. Freshman guard Matt Able headlines N.C. State’s freshmen class.
The Pack is picked to finish fourth in the ACC behind UNC, Louisville and reigning champion Duke.
Though this game won’t count against either team’s record, N.C. State has a 49-28 lead in the all-time series vs. South Carolina. The programs became founding members of the ACC in 1953 before the Gamecocks left the ACC in 1971. The teams haven’t played since 2007.
