The Pittsburgh Steelers traded three-time first-team All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Miami Dolphins in a blockbuster deal this offseason, but it seems he could be on the move once again.
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN recently named Fitzpatrick a potential trade candidate with the NFL trade deadline quickly approaching.
“Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is also on my radar,” Fowler wrote. “So, while I’m not so sure a complete house-cleaning is in order, it would surprise me if the Dolphins stood pat. This is a team with roster concerns, and those eight 2026 draft picks won’t address them all.”
The Dolphins have been one of the worst teams in the league, holding a 1-6 record through the first seven weeks of the season, and Fitzpatrick isn’t going to help change that anytime soon.
While Fitzpatrick has played well, recording 42 tackles, one fumble recovery, five passes defensed and one interception since re-joining Miami, he could net the team some extra draft capital for what looks to be an upcoming rebuild.
Fitzpatrick, 28, established himself as one of the best players at his position in Pittsburgh. From 2019-24, he racked up 516 tackles, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, 49 passes defensed, 18 interceptions and three touchdowns.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin seems to think he still has a lot left in the tank, too.
“Very difficult. His experience here and the production that he gave us speaks for itself. But you got to make tough choices,” Tomlin said. “Obviously I’ve been talking glowingly about two top notch players that we acquired in that. But I don’t obviously lessen the impact of a player like Minkah.”
A first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Dolphins, Fitzpatrick has 650 tackles, five forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, 59 passes defensed, 21 interceptions and four touchdowns in his professional career.
