Former NFL Star Adrian Peterson Arrested On Troubling Charges Sunday

Former NFL star Adrian Peterson was arrested on Sunday on troubling charges.

TMZ Sports reports that Peterson, 40, was arrested in Texas. The former NFL star grew up in the Longhorn State. Peterson, raised in Palestine, Texas, was a standout running back at the University of Oklahoma. He went on to star in the National Football League for 15 seasons.

Peterson, the NFL’s MVP in 2012, was a seven-time All-Pro player and a seven-time Pro Bowler. He finished his career with 14,918 rushing yards and 120 rushing touchdowns. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest running backs in the history of the game.

On Sunday morning, Peterson was arrested in Texas, according to a report from TMZ Sports on Sunday evening.

He was booked on some troubling charges.

Details of Adrian Peterson’s arrest

According to TMZ Sports, Peterson was arrested on multiple serious charges on Sunday morning.

“According to online records, Peterson was arrested in Sugar Land, Texas around 10 AM local time Sunday. He was booked on two charges of DWI and one charge of unlawful carrying of a weapon,” TMZ Sports reported.

“This is Peterson’s second DWI arrest this year after he was popped in Minnesota back in April shortly after the Vikings draft day party when a police officer claimed they saw him going 83 in a 55 MPH zone at just after 3 AM. Minnesota authorities say he blew a .14% blood alcohol content level. The legal limit in the state is .08.”

Peterson and his team have yet to officially respond to the news of his arrest on Sunday evening.
