Giants Reportedly Have ‘No Interest’ in Kayvon Thibodeaux Trade amid NFL Rumors

The New York Giants reportedly have “no interest” in trading Kayvon Thibodeaux at next week’s deadline, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported earlier Tuesday that Thibodeaux was a “name to watch” as the deadline approaches, as “some around the league have wondered whether he’s part of New York’s long-term plans and if he could become available with the Giants sitting at 2-6.”

The No. 5 pick in the 2022 NFL draft, Thibodeaux has yet to live up to expectations with the Giants. After a promising sophomore campaign in which he finished with 11.5 sacks, he was limited to 12 games in 2024 due to a wrist injury and finished the year with just 5.5 sacks. Through the first eight games of this season, he’s recorded 21 total tackles and 2.5 sacks.

The Giants exercised the fifth-year option on Thibodeaux’s rookie contract, which will pay him $14.7 million for the 2026 season.

The Giants have been trudging through a rebuild for the past few years. And while it would make sense to shop Thibodeaux given he’s just a little over a year away from hitting free agency, the team apparently plans to move forward with its current group of edge rushers that sees Thibodeaux flanked by Brian Burns and Abdul Carter, among others.
