Only Murders in the Building could be going international for its sixth season. A new rumor has stated that the hit Hulu series could be sending its lead trio — Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) — to Europe next season.
According to Deadline, the next season of Only Murders in the Building is expected to be set in London, England. While Hulu has yet to officially announce a renewal for the Emmy-winning show, one is believed to be on the way, given the show’s continued popularity. As for what could bring about the location change, the fifth season of Only Murders introduced a new storyline that saw Renée Zellweger’s wealthy Camila White buying up 51% of the Arconia so that she could turn the apartment complex into New York’s first casino. If her plan isn’t thwarted in the Season 5 finale, which debuts tomorrow, Oct. 28, on Hulu, it means that Charles, Oliver, and Mabel will be looking for a new place to live.
Only Murders Co-Creator Previously Hinted at Location Change

The location change rumor comes roughly two months after series co-creator John Hoffman hinted that they were looking to shake things up on Only Murders if it returned for a sixth season, telling TV Insider that “if there were [another season finale murder], I think we will look to shake things up in a potential next go.” The co-creator also confirmed that there have been no talks about ending the show, saying, “Nothing is at its end,” although he admitted that “there’s the stretch of credulity [of] how long can this thing go on?”
Sending Charles, Oliver, and Mabel to London would certainly open the door for new storylines, although it would likely come at the expense of losing Only Murders‘ star-studded ensemble cast, many of whom play characters that live (or used to live) in the Arconia. Of course, the location change could be temporary, as Season 4 of Only Murders took the lead trio to Los Angeles, California for an episode.
The fifth season of Only Murders has centered around the death of Lester Coluca, the Arconia’s doorman, who was found dead in the building’s fountain in the Season 4 finale by the lead trio. While the trio was initially led to believe that one of the world’s three richest people had been behind the murder, the penultimate episode seemed to suggest that Nicky “The Neck” Caccimelio’s sons and mother were behind this death, as they were the ones who stole the finger from Charles’ apartment earlier in the season. All will be revealed in the Season 5 finale, “The House Always…,” which will likely also reveal where Charles, Oliver, Mabel, and the rest of the Arconia’s tenants will be moving.
