An extract from her new memoir recalls the night of beloved daughter Lisa Marie’s death, shortly after they had attended the Golden Globes

Lisa Marie flew to Memphis for the January 8, 2023, celebration of Elvis’s 88th birthday at Graceland. It had been a few years since she’d attended, but this year, there was a special exhibit honouring Baz Luhrmann’s film Elvis. Costumes, props, and artifacts were on display.

Afterward, she cut the “Aloha cake”, decorated in honour of the 50th anniversary of Elvis’s landmark Aloha From Hawaii special. She was thin but otherwise seemed to be doing well.
