Celtics’ Jayson Tatum set to return, listed as questionable for Friday

Fewer than 10 months since Jayson Tatum had surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon, he has been listed as questionable for Friday’s game against the Mavericks, paving the way for a return to action.
Tatum tore his Achilles in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the New York Knicks in May and was given a possible recovery timeline of eight to nine months.
Over his eight years with the Celtics since being drafted third overall in 2017, Tatum has blossomed into one of the best wings in the NBA. He averaged 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.1 steals last season and was named to the All-NBA first team for the fourth time in his career.
