There was one pair noticeably absent during the introductions at Dancing With the Stars on Halloween night. Actress Elaine Hendrix and her partner Alan Bersten were not present for the show on October 28. “She suffered an injury in rehearsal this morning. Right now, she’s at the hospital being assessed,” co-host Alfonso Ribeiro explained at the top of the show, alongside a clip of Hendrix in visible pain while dancing. She was going to dance an Argentine tango to “Bad to the Bone.” However, rest assured Elainlan fans, they are both still in the competition. Bersten was in the studio alongside Ribeiro to give an update on his partner. “Elaine and I were dancing and all of a sudden, she froze and said she can’t move and she can’t breathe and something happened with her rib,” Bersten explained. “It felt like my muscle was twisted under my ribs,” Hendrix cried in the clip as she was taken to the hospital. The doctors cleared Hendrix to continue in the competition. The show then showed a recording of their rehearsal from this morning for judging. The duo got all 8s, earning 32/40 for this week.
Hendrix shared a clip of herself in the hospital on Instagram and asked for fans’ support to get her through to the next week. “Halloween is my favorite, and I’m devastated,” she heartbrokenly shared. “I was beyond excited to share what we had worked so hard on, although you’ll see a version of it. With your support, I’ll be back in the ballroom next week. I want nothing more.”
