New Orleans Saints Trading Cam Jordan To The Dallas Cowboys

The New Orleans Saints are now 1-8 after their 34-10 loss to the Los Angeles Rams to start their NFL trade deadline weekend. The Saints have so far decided to keep general manager Mickey Loomis and head coach Kellen Moore.

A decision that can easily be changed if they continue losing at this rate. On track with the New York Jets in the battle for the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

With Kellen Moore presumably safe for the time being, as it is his first season as the head coach, the Saints are out of the playoff picture and are now focusing their attention on assessing their roster and their rookie quarterback, Tyler Shough, for the future.

The Saints will be looking to see how they should maneuver their roster and decide who to keep for the long term and who has value that is not part of that plan to trade away.

The Dallas Cowboys will be buyers with the offense they have, which can beat anyone. The problem for Dallas is that they have one of the worst defenses of all time this year and are in desperate need of help. That’s why the Dallas Cowboys will trade for New Orleans Saints pass rusher Cam Jordan.

Dallas Cowboys To Trade for Cam Jordan

The Dallas Cowboys took the gamble of trading away Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers for draft picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark instead of paying him. This decision has now shown in more ways than one how valuable Parsons has been to this defense.

The Cowboys are the second-worst defense in expected points added per play in the last 25 years. The worst being the 2025 Cincinnati Bengals.

They have a serious issue of getting after the passer with Micah Parsons now in Green Bay. Kenny Clark was a nice addition in the trade with the two first-round picks; however, Clark is more of a run defender than a pass rusher.

The Cowboys should be looking to add not one but two pass rushers at the trade deadline, who have upside at a discounted rate. They should not trade away their first-round picks, but a Cam Jordan should cost less than that.

Defensive end James Houston leads the way for the team with 3.5 sacks on the season, with Kenny Clark at 1.5 sacks. The Cowboys are ranked 24th in the NFL with only 15 total sacks.

Jordan currently has 2.5 on the season, and will add valuable insight and leadership to a struggling defense.. The Cowboys could use a veteran, smart player like that for a playoff run, but they shouldn’t stop at just getting Jordan.

What is Cam Jordan’s Tarde Value?

Cam Jordan is in his 15th season in the NFL, and all 15 years have been with the New Orleans Saints. He has racked up 124 sacks in his career and has been a true veteran and leader along the way.

Jordan currently has 2.5 sacks on a bad Saints defense this season, showing he still has some juice left in the tank, and being a part of a team chasing a Super Bowl could put some extra pep in his step.

The cost for Jordan should be cheap, as he is 36 years old and is not signed past the 2025 season. It would be a rental that would cost the Cowboys a late-round draft pick.

What’s Next for the Dallas Cowboys?

The 3-4-1 Dallas Cowboys will host the Arizona Cardinals tonight on Monday Night Football.

A day before the NFL trade deadline.

The Cardinals will be without starting quarterback Kyler Murray, which should help the struggling Cowboys’ defense. The Cardinals are currently 2-5 on the season.
