Cut day at Cognizant Classic draws fans seeking best spots to watch the action

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (CBS12) — With pros battling to make the weekend at the Cognizant Classic, fans at the tournament in the Palm Beach Gardens are also making their own moves — scouting out the best places along the course to watch competitive golf.
One of the top viewing areas is the Bear Trap, widely considered a premier spot for fans looking for a front-row seat to the drama.
New this year, the 17th tee box is open to fans, allowing spectators to line up along the rope line and watch players take on the final hole of the Bear Trap.
Fans can also find views from several sponsored tents positioned around the course, including the Patriots Outpost along the 10th hole and the Corona Clubhouse, which offers 360-degree views of holes 12, 13, 14, and 15.

Some spectators said they have favorite spots they return to each year.
“I like to go over by the 17th hole over there, there’s kind of a hillside and nice and shady, and you can watch the players come into the 17th hole,” one fan said.
Another couple told CBS12 News, “So far we’ve enjoyed the 18th green!”
A third fan pointed back to the tournament’s signature stretch, saying, “I think right here, obviously at the Bear Trap, it’s wide open here, so anyone can go and approach it!”
While some areas draw bigger crowds than others, fans said there are plenty of options for taking in the action across the course.
