No matter who or what you support, there are some candidates you shouldn’t vote for this Election Day.
That’s because they’re not really running.
Some candidates who have withdrawn from their races will still appear on ballots on Nov. 4. Voting for these candidates will not disqualify ballots, but votes cast for those candidates will not be counted, said Sherry Poland, executive director of the Hamilton County Board of Elections.
In cases where voters can choose multiple names, like a school board race, votes for a withdrawn candidate will not be counted, but votes for legitimate candidates will be counted. Since the votes aren’t counted, it’s impossible for a candidate who’s withdrawn to win.
Board of Elections officials said signs will be posted in voting booths reminding voters of the names of withdrawn candidates.
Here’s a list of people who aren’t really running:
In Butler County
- Dale E. Perry, for Edgewood City board.
- LuAnn Hudson, for St. Clair Township trustee.
- Alex Kaiser, for Monroe City Council (also appears on some ballots in Warren County).
In Clermont County
- Susan Ogle, for Bethel-Tate school board.
- Jodi Harding, for Forest Hills school board (her name will also appear on ballots in Hamilton County).
In Hamilton County
- Jodi Harding, for Forest Hills school board (her name will also appear on ballots in Clermont County).
- Jen Ciolino, for Newtown Village Council.
- Eleni Towner, for Norwood school board.
- Ed Badinghaus, Jr., for Oak Hills school board.
In Warren County
- Alex Kaiser, for Monroe City Council (also appears on some ballots in Butler County).
