Rapper Young Bleed dies at 51 following brain aneurysm, family says

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Rapper Young Bleed died Saturday following complications from a brain aneurysm, his family announced. He was 51.
His son, Ty’Gee Ramon, confirmed the death on Instagram Monday, saying his father “gained his wings” on Saturday. The eldest child of Young Bleed said he plans to continue his father’s legacy.
Young Bleed, born Glenn Clifton Jr., was rushed to the hospital in late October after suffering a brain aneurysm caused by internal bleeding. The medical emergency occurred days after he performed at the Cash Money Verzuz No Limit event at ComplexCon.
Tameka Long, the mother of Young Bleed’s 10-year-old son, said the rapper had high blood pressure and a heart condition. He was placed in the ICU on a ventilator following the aneurysm.
Ty’Gee Ramon said his father never dealt with “real health issues” but confirmed he had high blood pressure and took medicine routinely.
Young Bleed’s mother said the hospitalization was completely unexpected and set up a GoFundMe to assist with medical costs.
Young Bleed helped establish Baton Rouge hip-hop in the late 1990s. He gained recognition through his collaboration with Master P on the 1997 soundtrack album “I’m Bout It.”
His 1998 debut album reached gold status and the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 when released under Master P’s No Limit label.
