‘My brain, my body’ — UFC Vegas 111’s Chris Padilla defends decision to smoke weed during fight camp | Video

Chris Padilla will look to win his fourth-straight fight inside of the Octagon later tonight (Sat., Nov. 8, 2025) at UFC Vegas 111 LIVE on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, but more importantly “Taco” will be trying to prove his doubters wrong.

Padilla, who is 3-0 since joining the UFC roster, will be matched up against a massively overweight Ismael Bonfim on Saturday. He’ll be a slight betting underdog, but it will be another chance for “Taco” to prove he’s the real deal at 155 pounds and push himself closer to a top 15 matchup in 2026.

Ahead of Saturday’s contest, Padilla jumped on social media to do a little Q&A with fight fans. That’s when “Taco” voluntarily revealed the he smoked a bunch of marijuana during his camp for UFC Vegas 111. That’s not something that all fighters do or something that all fight fans support, which prompted one fan to explain that his MMA coach was mad when he found out he smoked weed.

Check out Padilla’s response below and let us know your thoughts!

“I’ve already dealt with hard drugs in my family. Alcoholism, crack, all that,” explained Padilla. “Some people pray to god before there fights, some people don’t. Some of them win, some of them don’t. That’s how I see smoking.

“I don’t see no outer-force forcing me to. It’s just me in there. My brain, my body, and my opponent. I ain’t worried about none of that.”
