Arsenal are seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table and have two weeks left to bolster Mikel Arteta’s squad and give them the best chance of winning the top-flight title.

Both Manchester City and Aston Villa dropped all three points at the weekend, while the Gunners drew 0-0 with Nottingham Forest to edge a point further into the lead. After spending around £250million in the summer, the North London giants could move if the right deal presents itself this January transfer window.

The likes of Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri have been linked with loan moves away from the Emirates in a search for more game time, but are yet to depart. Arsenal could sanction moves for a number of fringe players, while Arteta has a big decision to make regarding Oleksandr Zinchenko. Here’s all the latest news from the Emirates.

Arsenal ‘agreement reached’

De Telegraaf claims Arsenal and Ajax have reached an agreement regarding a loan move for left back and midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The 29-year-old has spent the first half of the campaign on loan with Nottingham Forest but has found regular game time hard to come by, reports the Mirror.

The former Manchester City player, deemed surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium, has been given the nod to make a move to Forest.

Reports suggest Ajax are on the brink of securing a loan deal for the Ukrainian international, who is expected to fly to the Netherlands for a medical this week.

Zinchenko’s contract with Arsenal runs out at the end of the season and it’s highly likely he’ll depart the club, with Dutch media speculating that Ajax will aim to offer him an extended contract.

Sky Sports reports Chelsea are in negotiations to sign Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet this month, a player who has also caught the eye of Arsenal.

The Ligue 1 side have reportedly slapped a £56m price tag on the 20-year-old defender and are in discussions with the Blues about a potential transfer.

Liam Rosenior’s team are keen to bolster their defensive line-up this month, and Arteta is also said to be a fan of the young defender.

However, Chelsea appear ready to deliver a significant blow by making a move for the centre-back, who was absent from Rennes’ match against Le Havre due to suspension.
