Pakistan: Suicide attack outside Islamabad court kills 12

A suicide attack outside a court in Pakistan’s capital city of Islamabad has killed at least 12 people and injured 27 more, the country’s interior minister has said.

Mohsin Naqvi said a bomber was planning to attack the district courthouse – but was unable to get inside.

Attacks of this nature have been relatively rare in recent years – with footage from the scene showing the remains of a burnt out car outside the court.
