Fantasy Football Roster Trends: Waiver Pickups, Drops & Trades

With Week 11 down, we are at that final stretch of the season. Three weeks to go to decide your playoff destiny. It’s crunch time, and what you do today will decide your tomorrow.
Fantasy Football Roster Trends
Key Injuries
- Josh Jacobs (RB – GB): Jacobs luckily looks to have avoided anything major with his knee, but may still likely miss Week 12 as they are calling him “day-to-day.”
- Drake London (WR – ATL): London suffered a sprained PCL, which will cause him to miss Week 12 and perhaps more. This is a similar injury we saw from Ricky Pearsall, which cost him six weeks, and Brock Bowers, who we saw miss three.
- Jaylen Warren (RB – PIT): Left Week 11 with an ankle injury, though looks to have avoided anything serious and is questionable for Week 12. The Steelers stated he could have returned but were smart to ensure he was good to go.
- Emari Demercado (RB – ARI): Demercado is already ruled out for Week 11 with a high ankle sprain, which is likely to cost him a few weeks. With Trey Benson‘s return on the horizon, Demercado’s fantasy value goes to the basement.
Most Added Player
Alec Pierce (WR – IND)
Alec is a frequent flyer on this list as he ended up on a significant number of drops with his week 11 bye. This should have been your last chance to snag him, as he has been showing solid performance over the last few weeks.
Emanuel Wilson (RB – GB)
With the RB room devastated by injury and Jacobs’ status uncertain, Wilson found himself near the top of the Week 11 waiver adds given his plug/play status as a fill-in RB2 if Jacobs were to miss time
Michael Wilson (WR – ARI)
Wilson excelled with Marvin Harrison Jr. sidelined in Week 11, going for 15 catches and 185 yards. While we don’t expect that passing volume again, Harrison has already been ruled out of Week 12, and thus Wilson should be a nice WR2/3 flyer.
Bhayshul Tuten (RB – JAX)
Up until Tuten exited with an injury, he was splitting the workload with Travis Etienne Jr. Could he become this year’s Bucky Irving with a late-season takeover? Definitely worth the stash if that does play out, as we saw in the Liam Coen offense last year.
Most Dropped Players
Jacory Croskey-Merritt (RB – WAS)
“Bill” has failed to top 5.0 half ppr points in the last five weeks. With a Week 12 bye, owners are smart to get him off their roster and let him become someone else’s problem in crunch time.
Justin Fields (QB – NYJ)
Being benched is an easy way to be dropped in Fantasy, and that is exactly what we have seen. Fields has been bad most of the season, and now managers are able to fully move on.
TJ Hockenson (TE – MIN)
Having topped three catches in his last five games and failing to top 50 yards all year, isn’t even providing spike weeks for owners. Dropping him and playing the waiver game is truly the direction to go at the always-volatile TE position.
Most Traded Players
Kenneth Walker III (RB – SEA)
Despite failing to top 80 yards in his last five games, we have seen his volume increase the last couple of weeks, including touches in the red zone. Frustrated owners are hoping to sell high on this performance, and new owners are hoping he will continue to grow and dominate the backfield.
Chase Brown (RB – CIN)
Brown got a season-high 24 touches in Week 11 while showing a perfect blend of rushing and receiving work. Given the atrocious Bengals defense, managers are speculating that Brown will continue to provide the value that led him to be drafted so highly before the season.
Tetairoa McMillan (WR – CAR)
Was Week 11 his coming-out party? Are we going to see that late-season rookie WR emergence? Going for 130 yards and two scores, McMillan finished as the #1 overall WR in Week 11.
Final Thoughts
We have now hit the trade deadline in most leagues. Did your last-minute moves pay off or are you still left scratching your head, wondering where you went wrong? With three weeks to go, you still have time to work those waivers and make a final push to glory in 2025.
