The Centre Court lineup on Friday features the same four names who dazzled on Wednesday, plus another major champion and runner-up.
The two young lefties are divided among the sessions this time, with Canada’s last hope for a singles title taking on the Roland-Garros champion in the daytime. The Filipina Phenom who has been stealing all the headlines will once again be on second in the night session, this time following two experienced seeds.

CENTRE COURT – starts at 12:30 PM
- [2] Elena Rybakina (KAZ) d. [28] Ann Li (USA) 6-2, 7-5
- For the second match in a row, Rybakina had to fight through a second-set letdown to advance, although this time she managed to avoid going to a decider. The Kazakhstani came out flying, breaking in the opening game and adding two more breaks to take the first set in just 30 minutes. However, she did drop serve late in the opener which may have been a harbinger of things to come. Just like her opening match, Rybakina’s service level dropped midway through the second set and she was broken to go down 5-3. However, the world No. 2 locked in and fought back, breaking Li as the American served for the set and then saving a set point on her own serve to draw level at five. Rybakina broke again before serving it out, winning the last four games in a row.

- From a set and a break at 4-3 down in qualifying, the 19-year-old Korneeva is now through to the fourth round of a WTA 1000 for the first time in her career. She came racing out of the gate on Friday morning against her fellow teen, breaking the 24th seed twice on her way to a 4-0 lead. Jovic only managed to recover one of the breaks before dropping serve again in the final game of the set. Holds of serve were hard to come by in the second, as each woman was broken three times on their way to 4-4. Korneeva put the pressure on again as Jovic served to stay in the match. The qualifier fought her way to match point where she laced a forehand winner at the end of a long rally to secure her second consecutive straight-set upset of a seed.
