Kendrick Lamar, Trey Parker And Matt Stone Movie Pushes Release

EXCLUSIVE: Audiences looking forward to the upcoming untitled Kendrick Lamar, Matt Stone and Trey Parker movie are going to have to wait a little longer as sources tell Deadline the film is moving off its March 20, 2026 date. No new date has been set at this time but the filmmakers say they are working hard to finish the movie. Producers are Stone and Parker for Park County, and Lamar and Dave Free for pgLang
““It’s true – we’re moving (again). We’re working hard at finishing the movie,” Park County & pgLang partners said in a joint statement.
Insiders say Lamar has been on a global tour since April and is still on tour till next month while Parker and Stone have been working on the new season of South Park and insiders say both parties needed more time to focus on the movie given their busy schedules.
This will mark the second time the film has moved dates as it was originally suppose to open this past July but just like with that decision, the move was made due to the Lamar’s tour and the South Park schedule. The plot is under wraps, but it’s billed as an original live-action comedy.
With the film movie off that date, Amazon MGM Studios’ Project Hail Mary starring Ryan Gosling will now be that only major release set to bow that weekend.
Even with the release date moving, ties remain strong between Paramount and the talent especially Stone and Parker who got a shout out on a recent earnings call with the South Park returning with strong ratings for its 29th season.
