Is Arch Manning Early 2026 Heisman Favorite Amid Historic Game for Texas vs. Arkansas?

Arch Manning had a historic performance, leading No. 17 Texas to a 52-37 home victory over Arkansas on Saturday, becoming the first quarterback in Longhorns history to record a passing touchdown, a rushing touchdown, and a touchdown reception in the same game.

With the win, Texas improved to 5-2 in conference and 8-3 overall, led by Manning, who threw for 389 yards and four touchdowns on 18-of-30 passing while adding both a rushing and receiving score.

The win over Arkansas had fans chattering about Manning’s late season consistency and potential for a 2026 Heisman trophy.

The Longhorns held a slim 24-20 lead at halftime before turning it up after the break, forcing two key turnovers on defense and lighting it up on offense to secure the win.

With the victory and a few shake-ups on the way in next week’s CFP rankings, Texas is set to move up but will likely remain outside the top-12.

The Longhorns will host No. 3 Texas A&M next Friday, where a potential upset would significantly alter the rankings and boost their postseason chances.
