Muppets star Miss Piggy was fake arrested while attending Sabrina Carpenter’s last show of her “Short n’ Sweet” tour.
Style makeovers come and go, but for Sabrina Carpenter, “taste” is a refined art.
A throwback photo of the Grammy-winning pop star, 26, has fans appraising Carpenter’s fashion glow-up on social media. Carpenter, a singer-songwriter and former Disney Channel star who broke through with 2024’s “Short n’ Sweet,” has become known for her campy pin-up girl aesthetic, largely consisting of sheer and lacy tops, micro shorts and bustiers, plus her now-signature platinum blonde bangs and winged eye makeup.
However, a resurfaced photo of the singer attending Milan Fashion Week 2018 is turning heads, as seen in a Reddit post published Sunday, Nov. 23. The photo shows Carpenter, then 19, posing with fellow pop singer Zara Larsson at the Moschino runway show.
Unlike the eye-popping, showgirl-esque glamour of her latest looks, Carpenter opted for demure chic at fashion week in an all-black pantsuit and matching pointed toe shoes.
The singer’s hair, notably darker with her brunette roots showing, was pulled away from her face in a ponytail. And while Carpenter’s winged eye makeup was on full display, she did not have the cherublike rosy contour that has become a go-to.
“Sabrina’s rebranding is wild!” one user wrote. “And it’s not a critique, before someone comes for me. She found her aesthetic.”

The throwback photo of Carpenter sent fans online into a full-blown pop culture analysis, with several users taking to the comments section to muse on the singer’s style evolution.
“Styling is EVERYTHING!” one Reddit user wrote, complimenting both Carpenter and Larsson. “Went from cute high school girls to SUPERSTARS.”
“She looks way different, but I think this is one of the rare cases where it’s really just aging,” another user commented. “Not aging as in ‘old’ but as in ‘aging into adulthood,’ and the bangs.”
“I think she just does a heavier makeup look these days for stage,” one fan wrote. “She’s basically in drag, and when she’s not wearing makeup, she looks basically the same as this photo.”
For some fans, the photo made them nostalgic for the Carpenter of yesteryear.
“I love the darker hair and big brows on Sabrina here,” one user wrote.
“She looks so pretty with less, but I can see how the more subdued look just doesn’t suit her current stage persona as well,” another user commented. “It’s just not terribly distinct or loud for a pop star.”
