Man who declined treatment after Wyoming County crash dies from injuries, police say

Arcade, N.Y. — A man who was evaluated at the scene of a crash Wednesday and released later died from injuries related to the crash, according to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency personnel responded to a report of a one-car rollover on Genesee Road in Arcade around 6:50 p.m.
The sheriff’s office said first responders found Alfred Rex, 55, outside the overturned car. Rex told them he was eastbound when a deer entered the roadway and caused him to swerve, with the vehicle going off the road and overturning multiple times.
Rex was evaluated at the scene and refused further medical treatment, according to the sheriff’s office, but he called 911 early Thursday and was taken to Erie County Medical Center, where he later died from internal injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
