Barnsley will look to advance to the Round of 16 in the EFL Trophy as they visit Port Vale on Tuesday at 7 pm.

The Reds will be hoping to emulate a run that saw them win the EFL Trophy in 2015/16.

Barnsley come into the game off the back of a draw away at Stockport in the league
in which the Reds started well then faded as the game went on.

Conor Hourihane is expected to rotate at least some aspects of the side from
Saturday as Barnsley enter a busy festive fixture schedule.

As for Port Vale, they currently sit bottom of League One after gaining automatic
promotion last season.

Their last victory in the league came against Barnsley at Oakwell back in September,
and they have failed to score in their last six league games.

The Valiants topped their EFL Trophy group with 7 points in which they beat Leeds
U21s and Accrington and drew with Fleetwood.

Vale are managed by former Barnsley player Darren Moore who has been in charge
since February 2024.

Port Vale have former Barnsley loanee Joe Gauci and former Barnsley striker
Devante Cole.

The two sides have faced off 118 times in competitive fixtures, with Barnsley winning
50 games and losing 48.
