Travis Kelce Says He Never Fights With Taylor Swift

Like any therapized adult, I’ve watched enough of Dr. Orna’s Couples Therapy to know that fighting is a sign of a healthy, functioning relationship. Obviously, I’m not talking about throwing lamps across the room but civil discussions about whether your in-laws should be allowed to comment on your living room décor or if your spouse was wrong to gamble away the entirety of your savings account on DraftKings — those are generally considered par for the course. But apparently, this rule does not apply to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who swears he and Taylor Swift, over the course of their two-and-a-half-year relationship, have never fought.

On Monday’s episode of the New Heights podcast, the Kelce brothers and co-hosts had George Clooney on to discuss forging letters from Bill Clinton and the perennial heartache of being a Bengals fan. The conversation shifted into relationship territory when Travis asked the 64-year-old about his recent claim that he and Amal Clooney, in ten years of marriage, have never gotten into an argument.

“No, I’m not lying,” Clooney said. “Travis, shall we ask you the same question?”

“Well, it’s only been two and a half years, and you’re right,” Travis said, referring to his fiancée. “I haven’t gotten into an argument. Never once.”

Clooney at least offered a sort of reasonable explanation for his completely peaceful marriage, explaining that he and Amal choose not to fight because “neither of us are gonna win the argument, so why get in?” “Dude, I’m 64 years old, and what am I gonna argue about at this point?” he added. “I’ve met this incredible woman that is beautiful and smart, and she stands for all the most important things that I believe in in the world, and I can’t believe how lucky I am. So what am I going to fight about?”

Well, fine, when Oscar winner and salt-and-pepper king George Clooney puts it that way, I totally get it. Clooney then suggested the Kelce boys follow his lead, and Travis confirmed he is already doing that, “for sure.” “I’m just taking notes this whole time, big guy,” he laughed. “You don’t even know.”

Good for all of them, I guess. However, I would like to raise this question to Trav once more after all the wedding planning is said and done. Will he remain calm and conciliatory when he sees the estimate for the floral arrangements? What happens if his opinion on the seating chart is overruled? When they are ready to have a healthy conversation about whether 1857 Prime should really be catering the event, Orna and I will be here to help.
