NHL insider Pierre LeBrun is one of few national insiders whose word can be taken as good on the regular, and LeBrun now believes Flyers forward Travis Konecny will miss out on representing Team Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics in favor of the more physical Tom Wilson.
Some of this is just from the hilarity that has ensued from reports that the Milan rink is a whopping three feet shorter than normal, which would hypothetically place an emphasis on players who can thrive in smaller-area battles. Konecny and Wilson, of course, are very different players, and it makes sense on paper.
