The Good Ship Murder is set to drop anchor in Alicante for a festive special. This Christmas episode will mark the beginning of the third series of the Channel 5 drama, with Shayne Ward and Catherine Tyldesley returning to their roles as Jack Grayling and First Officer Kate Woods.
The plot revolves around Shayne’s character, Jack, who has found a new lease of life as a cruise ship singer touring Europe, much to the delight of his adoring fans. However, Jack’s past as a police officer comes back into play when murder occurs on board, reigniting his detective instincts.
Joining Jack is First Officer Kate Woods, his partner in both love and crime-solving, along with the ever-faithful ship steward Jamil, portrayed by Zak Douglas, who acts as Jack’s reliable confidant.

The episode synopsis reads: “The Good Ship Murder docks in Alicante for a Christmas special, where Donna’s festive voyage turns dark after her friend Bernie is found dead, and Gary, Rodriguez and Thomasina come under scrutiny in a hunt that uncovers a web of deceit and desperation.
“Meanwhile, Jack, recently sacked from the ship, lies low performing in a grimy dive bar, but as Christmas dawns, Kate returns and, with Jamil’s help, the two may finally rekindle their romance and share a Christmas song on board.”
