Parts of North East to be hit by Storm Bram with heavy rain

Disruption is expected in parts of the North East as Storm Bram is set to bring heavy rain to the region.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of rain from midnight to 15:00 GMT on Tuesday, with some flooding and travel disruption expected in Darlington, Durham and Northumberland.

A yellow wind warning is likely to affect parts of Durham and Northumberland from midday on Tuesday to 06:00 on Wednesday.

The Met Office said saturated ground might lead to some localised flooding.

“Rain will also be accompanied by strengthening south to southwesterly winds, with gusts in excess of 60mph possible over high ground,” a spokesman said.
