Report: TGA Statue Mystery Solved – New Divinity Trademark Uncovered as New Icon Matches Statue

We are just two days away from The Game Awards, one of the year’s biggest gaming events, yet the announcements bound for the stage are already leaking left and right. The internet is buzzing with news about the event, from small rumors and game ratings to accidental slips, such as the reveal of an iconic character making a comeback in Resident Evil: Requiem.

However, few things have sparked as much discussion as the mysterious demonic statue that recently appeared in the middle of the Mojave Desert, something heavily promoted by host Geoff Keighley through a series of cryptic messages.

While early speculation linked the statue to titans like God of War, Diablo 4, or The Elder Scrolls, those theories have since been debunked by reliable insiders like Jason Schreier. So you might be wondering if we will have to wait until the broadcast to find out, but if you are as anxious as I am, you will be interested to know we found strong evidence suggesting the Divinity franchise is preparing itself for a major announcement, and it might just be the one everyone has been talking about.

Trademarks Reveal New Logo for the Divinity Franchise and Statue Connection

This discovery centers on three new trademarks registered today in Europe for the Divinity franchise: one for a logo and two for icons that appear to be related to the logo or promotional material.

Although the owner of these filings is not listed (the representative ID ties them as the same), the design is unmistakably linked to the franchise created by Larian Studios. This new logo features the aesthetic of previous logo titles but also a refreshed, modernized font, strongly hinting that this represents a brand-new project in the saga rather than a simple re-release.

You might be wondering how this connects back to the statue. Well, if we pay close attention to one of these three icons, we can notice a form that almost exactly resembles the glowing shape seen on the mysterious desert figure. This striking similarity significantly raises the chances that the statue is indeed linked to Divinity.

If you still aren’t convinced, here’s a comparison that overlays the found icon on the statue image.

Yeah, I think this mystery has been solved; otherwise, that’s a massive coincidence.

We aren’t sure what the third trademark is for. We at first thought it may be referencing either the Enwebbed or Spider Legs abilities/status in the Divinity games, but it would be an odd thing to trademark.

Another piece of information, and this is pure speculation on our part, but with now knowing of the logo and it being tied to the statue, we speculate this may be referencing the Black Ring faction from the Divinity games. Specifically, the God King: if you look at the character’s design, its lower half does seem to match the statue and trademark symbol. Again, pure speculation, and probably “reaching” on our part.

We also should look at recent comments from insiders Jason Schreier and Shinobi602. The latter recently remarked that while the reveal ‘can’t please everyone,’ fans of the specific studio and genre will like it. This suggests the announcement is tied to a more specialized category of game, a description that aligns perfectly with the complex RPG roots of the Divinity saga.

The Divinity IP potentially being present at the event is not unheard of, as eagle-eyed fans recently spotted a “PS5 Pro Enhanced” tag for Divinity: Original Sin II on the PlayStation Store, and age ratings for current-gen native versions of the game surfaced as far back as last year.

Nevertheless, a simple update would clearly not match the hype of such a heavily teased reveal. This brings us back to one of the leading theories regarding the mystery statue: Divinity: Original Sin 3. As we know, Larian has been working on some projects for a while, like a project codenamed “Excalibur”, so this just might be the indicator that they are ready to make a grand reveal for Divinity.

We guess that a shadowdrop of the Original Sin II current-gen upgrade would pair perfectly with the reveal of a full sequel, and these fresh trademark filings serve as solid confirmation that a major Divinity comeback is imminent. However, we will have to wait and see at the event for official confirmation.
