Happy for him — Atalanta star De Ketelaere hails Lookman ahead of Chelsea clash

Atalanta forward Charles De Ketelaere has lauded teammate Ademola Lookman for his stellar performance against Eintracht Frankfurt, highlighting his importance ahead of their upcoming UEFA Champions League clash with Chelsea.

The Nigerian international was instrumental in Atalanta’s dominant 3-0 victory over the Bundesliga side, contributing both a goal and an assist.

The win saw manager Raffaele Palladino field the same attacking trio that famously started the 2024 Europa League final: Lookman, Gianluca Scamacca, and De Ketelaere.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference on Monday, De Ketelaere emphasized that Lookman’s current form could be a game-changer when the Bergamo club faces Chelsea on Tuesday for their final group stage match.

When asked about his partnership with Scamacca and Lookman, the Belgian international expressed his satisfaction with their chemistry on the pitch.

“Very good,” De Ketelaere stated.

“In Frankfurt, we returned with the same three-man attack from the Dublin final, along with Lookman, and we played well together. He’s improving, and I’m happy for him.”

Lookman has returned to form with three goal involvements in his last 3 games.

The 28-year-old will hope to be the difference-maker when Atalanta host Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
