Everything you need to know about Tyler West’s life away from Celebrity Race Across The World
- Tyler West, 29, is a London-born TV and radio presenter and DJ who won over a new army of fans when he appeared in Strictly Come Dancing in 2022. Partnered with Dianne Buswell, he took 8th place. Ironically he was eliminated in the dance off against EastEnders star Molly Rainford who is now his fiancee. After he left, he posted on social media: “Dancing each week infront of millions, no doubt a highlight of my life. Even better, blessed with the best that is @diannebuswell . Bruh you’ve taught me so much, been the biggest support and have made this whole experience more than I could ever imagine.”
- Molly and Tyler became an item when they went on to take part in the 2023 Strictly live tour. Tyler proposed to Molly in Mykonos, Greece, in August this year. In an interview with New! magazine, Tyler gushed: “She’s my best friend. She’s made me feel more love in these past two years than I’ve experienced in my entire life. I proposed in Mykonos, and I was so chill and calm – it was the easiest, best decision of my life.”
- Tyler, a regular reporter on ITV’s Lorraine, previously opened up on the show about having a five-hour hair transplant at the age of just 28 due to receding hair. He admitted he thought about it “for ages” before going ahead but decided “there’s never going to be a good time to do it so why not get it done sooner rather than later”.
- Tyler and Molly can currently be seen on the BBC series Celebrity Race Across The World where they are one of four duos racing through Central America. Ahead of the final, Tyler admitted that the trip was far from easy and even admitted to “full trauma” following their time in Costa Rica when they slept in hammocks in the jungle. In a new interview he said: “I still have nightmares about Costa Rica. I can’t, that’s full trauma.”
- Tyler opened up during the BBC travel show about witnessing a fatal stabbing as a teenager, which has had a lasting impact on his mental health. He said: “I was coming home from school one day, and there was like these three men having an argument outside my house. One of the two men throw a really weak punch to the man that was on his own, and then one of the men had a 12-inch kitchen knife in his hand. All of a sudden, it was like me standing there at my bedroom window at 14 and just seeing this man get like stabbed to death. It was one of the most horrific moments of my life.”
