Charlie Kirk’s ‘assassin’ Tyler Robinson smiles in court

At a memorial for her husband near their family home in Arizona in September, she said through tears that she forgave Kirk’s killer “because it was what Christ did and it’s what Charlie would do”.
Kirk, a father of two, was one of the most prominent conservative activists of his generation through his student organisation, Turning Point USA, and had acted as an informal adviser to Donald Trump, the US president.
According to text messages recovered by detectives in September, Mr Robinson confessed to shooting the influencer to his trans lover, saying: “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.”
“I had enough of his hatred,” he said of Kirk, adding: “Some hate can’t be negotiated out.”
