Annie Leibovitz enchants A Coruña – The MOP Foundation opens the “Wonderland” exhibition with over 100 fashion images and a new photobook

The Marta Ortega Pérez (MOP) Foundation presents Wonderland by Annie Leibovitz – the celebrated portrait photographer whose striking visual worlds have shaped our cultural memory. The only comprehensive exhibition dedicated to Annie Leibovitz’s fashion photography can be seen until 1 May 2026 at the MOP Center on the Muelle de Batería in A Coruña, Spain.

The new exhibition by the MOP Foundation showcases the breadth of Leibovitz’s photographic universe – a cosmos filled with remarkable personalities and unique stories. Beginning with her early years, during which she earned acclaim for her intimate portraits of musicians such as Bob Dylan, Grace Slick, John Lennon, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards for Rolling Stone magazine, the show follows her journey through the worlds of art, film, music, sport and politics. At its core is an extensive selection of her fashion photography – much of it being shown for the first time in a public exhibition.

The exhibition is accompanied by a film and a specially produced publication (Annie Leibovitz in Wonderland), in which long-time collaborators such as Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith and Gloria Steinem reflect on shared memories, creative processes and the personality behind the camera.

At the opening in A Coruña, the city appeared energetic and glamorous: personalities including Linda Evangelista, Karen Elson, Carolyn Murphy, Luca Guadagnino, Willy Chavarria, Ben Gorham, Vincent van Duysen, Samuel Ross and Pedro Almodóvar were in attendance, posing alongside Leibovitz, who delighted guests while signing copies of her book.

“Annie has a magical ability to catch the aura of the people she is photographing. Her genius lies in her ability to consistently find the moments, the truths, that nobody else sees,” said Ortega Pérez, founder and president of the Foundation. “Throughout her career Annie has been an extraordinary champion of women of all ages. Her images of older women in particular have a grandeur and beauty which is unparalleled.”

So if you’ve ever wanted to wander through Wonderland in this enchanting corner of the Galician Atlantic coast, you have the chance until spring 2026.
