Is there an NBA game on NBC tonight, Tuesday, December 9?
No, there isn’t an NBA on NBC game tonight, as NBC is bringing you holiday programming instead of NBA Coast 2 Coast Tuesday this week.
Actually, since Christmas is still a couple of weeks away, holiday programming in lieu of NBA Coast 2 Coast Tuesday will last not just this week, December 9, but also next week, December 16.
That said, NBA on NBC coverage of Peacock NBA Mondays is popping next week, December 15, with two huge flex games. In the early game, tipping off exclusively on Peacock at 7 p.m. ET, you’ll be able to catch the Detroit Pistons at Boston Celtics. The Pistons are currently the hottest team in the Eastern Conference, but as far as championships go, the Celtics are the hottest franchise in NBA history, having won more championships than any other team, after their most recent 2024 chip.
Game 2 of the December 15 doubleheader on Peacock NBA Monday features the team that won it all before the Celts, the 2023 champs, the Denver Nuggets — with their championship core of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray still very much clicking — hosting the Houston Rockets and Kevin Durant at 9:30 p.m. ET.
You’ll be able to catch both the Nuggets and the Rockets in action again the following week, when NBA Coast 2 Coast Tuesdays returns to NBC and Peacock on December 23. Game 1 will feature the Denver Nuggets at Dallas Mavericks at 8 p.m. ET, while game 2 will find the Houston Rockets visiting the Los Angeles Clippers at 11 p.m.

What can you watch on NBC Tuesday Night, December 9, instead of Coast 2 Coast Tuesday?
With holiday frost nipping at the air currently, NBC is briefly pausing NBA action in favor of some holiday specials.
