Is Vikings WR Jodan Addison playing today vs Cowboys?

The Vikings look like they may have figured some things out on offense last week, but if Addison can’t play that momentum may be short lived.

The way the Dallas Cowboys secondary has been playing so far in 2025, they could certainly use a break in their Week 15 matchup on Sunday Night Football. While the Minnesota Vikings offense has struggled all year, they seemed to find their groove a bit in Week 14. Taking on the struggling Washington Commanders, quarterback JJ McCarthy put on the best performance of his seven-game career, completing 16 of 23 passes for 163 yards and three scores. McCarthy didn’t turn the ball over as the Vikings scored a season-high 31 points.

McCarthy’s favorite target was Jordan Addison, who himself has missed action this year. Addison was targeted a team-high seven times, hauling in a team-high four receptions for a team-high 62 receiving yards. That included a 21-yard completion which was, you guessed it, a team high. However Addison suffered an Achilles injury, putting his availability for the matchup in Dallas in doubt.

Addison was limited when the team resumed practice on Wednesday, and then was limited on both Thursday and Friday as well. However when the team released their injury designations for the contest, Addison was not given one, indicating the team expects to get a full workload out of the fourth-year receiver.

The Cowboys will be playing without cornerback Trevon Diggs, and have been one of the worst passing defenses in the NFL this year. Several mediocre or even subpar QBs have had their best games of the season against Dallas, so having Addison to pair with All-World WR Justin Jefferson bodes well for McCarthy to have his second-straight impressive outing for head coach Kevin O’Connell.

Jordan Addison’s 2025 stats

  • Addison has 37 receptions for 510 yards and three touchdowns this season. He’s been targeted 70 times for 51.0 yards per game.
