Bryan Ceja death: Family mourns 13-year-old boy killed in multi-vehicle crash on 210 Freeway in Sylmar

SYLMAR, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A heartbroken family is speaking out for the first time since their 13-year-old son was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Sylmar.
The crash happened over the weekend on the 210 Freeway, shutting it down for hours. The 13-year-old boy was killed, and several others were injured.
“An amazing kid. I’m the luckiest stepfather ever to have him in my life,” said Alfredo Siordia.
Siordia says he’s holding onto precious memories of the years he spent with his stepson, Bryan Ceja.
“For him being a little kid, he taught me how to love as well, and just like, I really miss him,” Siordia said.
The 13-year-old was out Christmas shopping with his mother on Sunday when he was killed in the multi-vehicle crash.
Siordia says he had a great relationship with the teen.
“He was just this energetic kid, and wanted to play sports. That was mostly his thing,” Siordia said. “Sorry, baseball, football, you name it. He was just very athletic.”
The violent collision also left Siordia’s wife seriously injured, but she’s recovering. The couple is being helped by family members while they grieve the 13-year-old’s death.
“I go inside his room and, you know, picture the times he was there, and it’s just not going to be the same,” Siordia said.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help support the family and pay for Bryan’s funeral expenses.
It’s unclear what exactly led up to the crash. The author of the GoFundMe described the crash as an “unimaginable tragedy caused by a reckless driver.”
