Broncos activate G Ben Powers from IR, elevate QB Sam Ehlinger and S Delarrin Turner-Yell for Week 16 game vs. Jaguars

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have officially regained a key offensive lineman.

Denver activated guard Ben Powers from injured reserve to the 53-man roster on Saturday, the team announced.

The Broncos also elevated quarterback Sam Ehlinger and safety Delarrin Turner-Yell from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars.

Denver also signed guard Calvin Throckmorton to the practice squad after he was waived earlier this week.

Powers, who suffered a biceps injury in Week 5 against the Eagles, was designated for return from injured reserve and returned to practice ahead of Week 15.

“Understand this: There’s always that transition period,” Head Coach Sean Payton said Friday about Powers’ return to game action. “So, we’re never going to throw someone in there for 65 [plays]. There’s that transition period for anyone who’s coming off an injury like that.”

Prior to his injury, Powers started 39 consecutive games for the Broncos after signing with the team ahead of the 2023 season.

Ehlinger was also elevated in Week 15, while Turner-Yell has not previously been elevated this season. Turner-Yell has appeared in 30 career games for the Broncos, with his last regular-season action coming in 2023.

The Broncos will host the Jaguars on Sunday at 2:05 p.m. MT on FOX.
