$150K and five $50K winners

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Several lucky ticket holders are walking away with thousands after securing a win in Saturday’s Powerball drawing.

More than 120,000 tickets bought in the Commonwealth won prizes. That includes one ticket that won $150,000 and five that each won $50,000.

The winning numbers for Saturday’s Powerball drawing were 4, 5, 28, 52, 69, with the Powerball number 20. No ticket in Virginia or anywhere else matched all six winning numbers, so the jackpot for the Monday, December 22, drawing grows to an estimated $1.6 billion.

The ticket that won $150,000 was purchased at Publix on South Laburnum Avenue in Richmond.

The five tickets, each worth $50,000, were purchased at the following locations.

  • 7-Eleven. 14533 Lee Road in Chantilly,
  • Food Lion, 1859 East Little Creek Road in Norfolk,
  • BJ’s, 6607 Wilson Blvd. in Falls Church,
  • Murphy USA, 1860 Stavemill Crossing Lane in Powhatan,
  • Online, using the Virginia Lottery mobile app.

Powerball drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Prizes range from $2 up to the jackpot. The odds of matching all six numbers to win the jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338. The odds of winning any prize are 1 in 25. You must be at least 18 years old to play Virginia Lottery games.

All Virginia Lottery profits, including those from the sale of Powerball tickets, go to K-12 education in Virginia. In Fiscal Year 2025, the Lottery raised more than $901 million for K-12 education, making up approximately 10 percent of Virginia’s total K-12 school budget.
