“The charges against Mr. Andrade Pino are disturbing,” Berlin said.

Officials said the 20-year-old victim was at work Monday night at the Jewel on York Road in Bensenville. The woman was collecting shopping carts in the parking lot, when Andrade Pino told her to go to his car, officials said.

She declined, and Andrade Pino allegedly blocked her path, grabbed her by the neck and told her to go to his car.

Andrade Pino released her, but stayed by her and grabbed and released her again, when someone came out of the store, officials said.

The next morning, Andrade Pino returned to the Jewel, and employees called the police.

He was then taken into custody.

Andrade Pino appeared in court Wednesday morning, and was denied pre-trial release.

He is next due in court Jan. 20.

Jewel did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
