“Ice Castles” opens its door to visitors Friday

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (KTTC) – The annual “Ice Castles” opens its doors to visitors Friday at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.

Organizers are crediting favorable winter conditions combined with the hard work by their ice artisans for the earliest opening date in the event’s history.

Gates officially open at 4 p.m.

The winter wonderland is filled with beautiful ice sculptures, caverns, slides and the Frozen Tap Ice Bar.

Organizers say “Ice Castles” will remain open for visitors until late February or early March, weather permitting.

Minnesotans wanting to visit “Ice Castles” can buy tickets by going onto the attraction’s website.
